Time to update the blog with things that SPARKLE!!

There have been a lot of fun things going on this week. I had one of our jeweler's make a pendant out of one of the shells I picked up while at the Oregon coast. It is kinda hard to see the colors but you get the point. The last 3 days at work have been spent learning Matrix. It is a 3-D auto CAD program for the jewelry industry. It is going better than I thought it might. I have messed with auto cad at home but never really got anything out of it. We have been basically just making bands. The stones are premade in the system. This first ring is one I made just poking around in the computer before the girl that is teaching us came. I added the horse because I thought it was funny. We learned basic auto cad (Rhino) the first 2 days and did all the drawings bit by bit with lines and circles. The Matrix program has a lot of short cuts. But there is still a need to know the basics so that you can do more complex things.

Like the exacto knife??!! I thought it was a weird premade prop for a jewelry program so I had to use it, kinda like the horse.

Then I decided to take my 3 favorite colors (purple, orange, and lime green) and put them into a ring. Not quite the exciting thing I thought it might be but good way to find out before you put the money into it!
Just had to show off my renderings. I am quite excited about them!

Now I can relax!

The last couple weeks have been bad at best. Thankfully they are now over with. I did go this week and replace my stolen temple clothes. That was an expensive shopping trip. They are supposed to send me my dress in the mail in the next few weeks. It will be good to have all that back.

I plan to go to CDA this week and stop in at figpickels. Figpickles is this cool old toy store that looks like Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. I need to buy a birthday present and they have some really cool stuff. I find when I go in there I feel like I am 10 again. I quite enjoy it. When you go and buy something you get a wooden nickle. When you collect 10 of them you bring them in and you get to spin the wheel for a prize. So far I only have one.

I went to open my window tonight to listen to the storm and found this bug. I was quite freaked out by it. His body and head are about 1 1/4" long. Does anyone know what it is?

Salem, OR

I got to go to Salem this weekend for another photography class. We went to Silver Falls State Park and learned to photograph water and depth of field. It was not the best weather (too sunny) but it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. The hike was a killer. I wanted to die after the first day. That night after a few Ibuprofen and some Aspercream and I felt pretty good the next morning. After a quick shower and change of clothes we went to Woodburn to the monster outlet mall. It was cool. I found a bunch of stuff at the Lane Bryant outlet.
The next days hike was much easier. We got done early, came home and showered and changed, and then hit the road again. We went down to Newport and hung out at a couple beaches. Then we drove up through Depot Bay and Lincoln City. It was cool. I have not been to the beach in years so it was nice.

Monday morning we woke up and got all our stuff packed up. The house was cool, it is a vacation rental house and was much cheaper than hotel rooms, and much nicer. We drove up to the Iris farms. It was so pretty. They had tons of different iris and other flowers.
I did buy a flower, it was to pretty to not bring home. We then drove home. We stopped in the Tri-Cities to leave Nigel with mom and then pick her up again. It made me home sick. I decided that I need to go home. I plan on going over the weekend of the 4th. Anyway these are just a few of the pic's I took. I will post more of them on facebook.
